From Our Rabbis

Shalom!

As the three rabbis who lead the communities whose joint venture is Ohr Chadash, we must state right from the beginning how proud we are to be at the forefront of an exciting new model of supplementary Jewish education for this upcoming school year.

Jewish education is a priority for all of us. We are delighted to participate in a new experiential program as it provides more opportunities for students and families to interface with home synagogue communities and ourselves. We three rabbis are dedicated to help enrich the total experience of the Ohr Chadash students. We cherish the relationships that we have built over the years with our Ohr Chadash families and we have come to love your children as if they were our own.

We firmly believe that Jewish education is a life-long pursuit and as rabbis, we want to do our part to instill a love of learning at an impressionable age. Our experiences have taught us that a religious school is only one part of the equation that leads to a committed Jewish life. To help meet this goal, we have created ongoing opportunities throughout the year for parent, grandparent and guardian education as well.

We also want to emphasize that Jewish learning is most meaningful for children when it is put into regular practice. To that end, all three of our congregations have outstanding Shabbat experiences for young people, especially junior congregation. We see this as an extension of the lessons and values that Ohr Chadash conveys in the classroom. We trust that your children will find these experiences to be enriching.

If we can be of any help to you now or in the future, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of us directly. We look forward to getting to know you better.

Many blessings,
